Mental Health Theme

We at Himani Readers were glad to have met the author via social media and applaud her first self-published book. We support the work of Ms. Lynch in her advocacy of mental health awareness!

"Trey's Adventure was written in 2004 as a bedtime story for L.G. Lynch's daughter. In 2019 the story book was published so the rest of the world can read the tale and fall in love with the characters just the same as her daughter did. Trey's Adventure is about a little tortoise named Trey, the main character (the name Trey means 'the three' hence the friendship of Katy, Wendy and Freddie) who has been lonely in the past when his owner Tommy goes out to play. One day he finds himself lost in the garden outside and befriends 3 creatures a caterpillar, a ladybird and a fly. His newfound friends guide him back home to Tommy who has missed his little tortoise. Trey had forgotten how lonely he was before his adventures but as this thought materialises Wendy the ladybird, Freddie the fly and a magnificently colourful transformed Katy the butterfly fly in the open window to keep Trey company. From that day on the little tortoise is never lonely again when his friends come to visit.

Mental illness is a worldwide condition and loneliness attributes to this significantly. Trey's Adventure is a children's story that has a subtle lesson for a child to learn. Making friends in life helps stave loneliness in childhood through to adulthood, it also teaches children about one of the mysterious transformations nature has to offer." -L.G. Lynch
