Why do I need this book?
Calling all parents of the Indian diaspora who have ever freaked out that their child can't speak the mother tongue. This book is FOR YOU!
Families wanting to re-connect their children to Indian roots? Check out this book!
Travelling to India on vacation and want your kids to recognize some words? This is a perfect start.
Even if you have never spoken a word of Hindi besides "Namaste," in your yoga class, you can still read this!
What makes this book a joy to read for a non-Hindi speaker, is the ease of the vocab. Our family appreciated that even my son's American Grandma was able to phonetically read correctly during story time. Never having spoken Hindi before, she felt confident after reading a couple words and it was wonderful bonding with my Indian born son in this way as a result!
A beautifully illustrated book that will capture the attention of your sweet lil' baba. It's the perfect jump start for your tot's journey into the Hindi language. You can pick up your copy today on Amazon. Click the picture above for a direct link!

An Uncomplicated Experience
The simplicity of romanized text paired with adorable pictures; this book reads like the old fashioned flash cards we used to memorize. However this is better! Without any distraction of English translation, a first time learner can associate each picture symbol with the correct pronunciation of the Hindi vocabulary.
This book is a short read, with 25 vocab words paired with an illustration
reminiscent of an oil painting. The simplicity of the art enhances the relationship with the word being communicated. The bold and bright colors make visual learning fun and the text font resembles a child's handwriting which engages a young reader.

Learning a Second Language Naturally
Don't be disappointed that there isn't English text alongside each word. This is not a "classic" bilingual book. The primary focus is hearing/sight recognition as the book is read out loud. This is key to your child associating each object with the Hindi identity, in the same natural way they did when forming their native language. As a teacher, an author and a Mum, I can appreciate the time and effort it took to thoughtfully create this book. I hope you enjoy your copy as much as our family has.
